I hope everyone is ready for a Hero workout!!!

So the heavy days are done, tomorrow we will be doing a hero workout named after Chief Petty Officer Nate Hardy who was killed Sunday February 4th 2008 during combat operations in Iraq. Nate is survived by his wife, Mindi, and his infant son Parker.

The Heats from Big Girls Don't Cry have been Posted!!!

From the Crossfit Unlimited website:

On October 19 we will host the "Big Girls Don't Cry" challenge. If you are registered for this competition, here are some things you need to know:

  1. Each athlete will be assigned a judge. Your judge will be strict with range of motion standards. There will be no meeting prior to the competition to explain these standards, so you are responsible for knowing them. You can find them here. If you have any questions please email me austin@crossfitunlimited.com.
  2. Athletes need to be at Unlimited at 9:15am to complete registration, payment needs to be cash.
  3. Athletes will be responsible for their own warm-up. There will be a warm-up room available.
  4. Athletes need to be in "The Cell" 5 minutes prior to their starting time.

The three workouts each have a 10 minute time cap. "Fran" is first, "Karen" is second, and "Grace" is third. Here are the eight heats with start times:

Fight Gone Bad was Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow we finally go heavy again

What can I say about today? Today was bad ass, trully perfect! Watching everyone show up for FGB and bang out the workout was inspiring. I apologize if I let anyone down today by not performing the workout, I have done this workout many times and would have loved to have done it again but my focus has changed to you guys and away from me as an individual. This does not mean though that I will not be competing in many other challenges and events, just for FGB since it was our first official event together I wanted to make sure I watched all of you peform and video tape what I could. I am 100% satisfied with my decision to not workout, I got much more pleasure out of watching you guys kick ass! I hope you guys understand where I was coming from.

.COM rest day tomorrow!

Tomorrow is a .COM rest day. Therefore I would normally come up with alternate workout for everyone. However, I thought about it and since I promote and believe in the .COM programming so much then why would I allow you guys to do a workout that was not posted by .COM. So what I have come up with is that on rest days I want anyone that missed a workout that week to make it up on that rest day. If you have came in everyday then I will give you an alternate workout that you have not done.

----------------------------------------

Workout options for Tomorrow:

Come in tomorrow and have fun while you work on something you suck at (if you have completed all workouts this week)

Do a workout you missed from this week

Do a workout that I come up with (if you have completed all workouts this week)

-----------------------------------------

A little break dancing video, something I really want to learn how to do.

September 22, 2008

Great Snatches today, Tomorrow we will be doing what I will call the "funky WOD"

So tomorrows workout can only be described as "funky" in my opinion. This workout is like nothing else I have ever seen and should be pretty interesting. Its workouts like these that keep Crossfit even more fun than it already is because we constantly switch things up. Unlike our good friends at the regular globo gym that do bicep curls and tricep extensions daily. Wow, I'm glad I got out of that!

--------------------------------------

Tomorrows workout:

For time 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, and 5 rep rounds of:
virtual shoveling
[wmv] [mov]

Push-ups

With an Olympic bar holding only one plate (men use 45 pound plate, women use 25 pound plate), touch the plate on one side of the barrier then the other for one "rep." Barrier is 24."

Post time to comments.

I Hope everyone is Rested up, Tomorrow we will attack Isabel!!!

Im going to keep this post pretty short because I just got back from a gymnastics seminar and am beat from a long day.

Most important thing I took away from the seminar:

STRETCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the past I have not done a good job of stretching and therefore have not pushed you guys to stretch either, this all ends tomorrow. Every class will have stretching before and after the workout!

----------------------------------------------

Tomorrows Workout:

"Isabel"

For time:
Snatch 135 pounds, 30 reps

Use 95 pounds, 65 pounds or broomstick as needed and post time and load to comments.

Don't worry if you guys do not know what a snatch is, to begin you can check out the video below I will also go over it thoroughly tomorrow!

I was at this seminar, hopefully I will explain it as well as Coach Burgener did.
