I promised an update, sorry this will be short it is 11pm and I need to be up at 6am after working out 5 times today and another three tomorrow.
I placed 72nd in the first run, my calves cramped up, I fell down a bunch of times and bear crawled through poison oak. Overall, one hell of a shitty event
I tied for first for the Deadlifts PRing with #505, this brought me up to 36th place
I placed well in the next event which was a hill run with sandbags, this brought me up to 28th
The next event was the sledgehammer event which I also did well at, this brought me up to 18th
The last workout I set the best time for which brought me up to 12th allowing me to compete tomorrow.
For more information please visit: http://games2009.crossfit.com/
Tomorrow's workouts start at 8:00am, only 16 men and 16 women qualified for this.
Overall, one hell of a day!!!! 72nd to 12th, I'm pretty happy with that!

God Jason awesome work! You are truly a freakin' inspiration! It's your mental toughness more than anything else. Looking forward to seeing you again after your honeymoon.

72nd to 12th -- that's totally awesome Jason! It was really great watching you compete, and agree, you are an inspiration, both your mental and physical strength. Congratulations on day 1 and I'll be rooting for you from home on Sunday. Awesome!

Congrats Jason, I'm keeping an update on Crossfitgames.com and you're tied for 2nd place going into the 7th WOD. It's all yours! Keep working!

Jason great, inspiring, mind-blowing work after the first event to come up sooooo many places! I had CF Twitter and the 2009 games site on autorefresh. The fact that you kept pushing after a suboptimal performance on the first event, didn't let it get you down and maintained your mental toughness makes you a f*cking warrior in my eyes.
All the physicality aside, the mental aspect of your fitness makes you one tough MFer.

Jason, it was truly inspirational watching you the past couple days, great work! Getting in the top two spots in 5 of 8 events, that is incredible!!

Jason, these Games were presented as the battle of training methods, and I think it is clear that you and Austin hit the target dead-on. I imagine you'll be investigating the cause of the horrible cramps that you got during the run (which would have knocked anyone but you out of the competition, I think), but your recovery from that and your subsequently superb performances in every single WOD speak volumes.
Also, your philosophy of training what you suck at paid off big time - I thought those toes-to-bar would set you back, and they did a little bit, but not much!
Thank you for being not just an awe-inspiring competitor, but also an outstanding coach, and if I can presume to say this, a wonderful friend.
