Volunteers!!!

Several of you have expressed an interest in being a Volunteer at the Nor Cal Sectional being held at Mitty High School on March 27th-28th. If you are not competing and want to watch the events (hopefully as many of you as possible to support our athletes) Volunteering is a great way to do it. Not only do you get free entry to the events but also a free t-shirt. As of right now the sectional is growing tremendously, this year we already have over 400 participants which means we need MORE volunteers. If you aren't busy and want to help out we would greatly appreciate it. Please register here.

If you are nervous about judging and do not want to judge people, don't worry. Register as a volunteer and we can find something for you to do.

Austin started this trend, then Freddy and now me. If you are an affiliate owner please post up this information and help us get more volunteers.

I have volunteered for the 2008 Games, the 2009 Qualifiers and the 2009 Games, and I can tell you it is a wonderful thing to do! Some of the jobs aren't glamorous (like toting 45# dumbbells up a muddy hill in the rain) but being there helping to make the event happen and the competitors' needs get taken care of - that's not just essential but also tremendously appreciated by all who participate!

The only downside is that someone might take an unflattering photo of you yelling your head off ;)

Don't be afraid to offer to judge - last year the head judges were VERY thorough in explaining what the movement standards were and backed our judgment completely. I think judging, while exhausting mentally (and hell on the vocal cords & feet) was the best thing I have done in ages; the Judge-Competitpr relationship is short but powerful. I had many of the folks I judged come up later (both at the sectionals and at the Games and later at a couple Certs) to say "Hey, you were my judge! It helped a lot to have you right there yelling at me!" or some variation of that.

Cynthia, I think that picture of you yelling your head off is awesome! It captured the enthusiasm you show for CrossFit

Hey everybody, remember to wish Charlene Happy Birthday!!

How many burpees are we doing in your honor, Charlene?
