Hey hope everyone is well!! Not gonna lie but coming to Crossfit everyday and loving it. makes it hard to look at the website while being away.. haha because I want to be there!!! I am interested in the running.. especially bec I pr'd on my 1 mi.. I was excited..My eyes are great!! and I can't wait to get back to CROSSFIT SC...with a new outlook and vision!!!! Hope all is well with you!! see you in a week and a half..

I'm up for a running group on the weekends... maybe even CrossFit Endurance?

CrossFit Endurance would be really sweet. I think the WODs from that site look brutal and effective.

Maura, I gotta say.. getting to witness you crush workouts really is inspiring!
Truly admirable.
Keep it up sister!

Running on the weekend would be cool, I'd definitely be interested!

I know its always easier to train with a specific goal in mind. That being said, the San Jose Rock n Roll Half Marathon is happening Oct. 3rd. I just started training for it so I'm definitely interested for some weekend endurance work.

Here's the website for those interested:

http://san-jose.competitor.com/

I would also like to join up for weekend runs. There alot of great trails close by, Rancho San Antonio, Los Gatos, Alviso (just kidding about Alviso, but seriously they have a trail-Great America to Twin Creeks). There are some even great all weather tracks at alot of the local high schools. I miss the 5k days and 4x 800m workouts.

Here's what I was thinking we could do for a class (provided we have enough participants):

A twice a week class at the gym to learn about and practice efficient running technique, also spending a little time on footwear, stretching, Self Myofascial Release, and the CrossFit Endurance approach to training. If you've already got good technique or just want to do the CF Endurance WODs, that'd be the time to hit the two interval sessions or a time trial (if we can map out some longer loops nearby), otherwise we'd be doing the 6 weeks of POSE drills/workouts from the Cert. to begin with, and the interval/tempo/time trial WODs after that. If people preferred, we could re-locate to a track (for the last year I've taught the Kid's class at Foothill College on Wednesday evenings, which is a great track to run on).

On the weekends, a trail run to put skills to work in a different environment (and longer distance/time) with options for runners of different levels from speedy to slow. Jesse, you're right, there are LOTS of places nearby with good trails!

There is definitely a trick to combining the CFEndurance WODs with your normal CrossFit workouts - you shouldn't just look at what's posted on the CFE site for the day and do that. Learning how to combine the two is one of the benefits of going to the Cert, or working with someone who has.

Brian is right - it's better if you have a goal (but still great if you don't!). I'm aiming for the Humboldt Redwoods Half Marathon in October (http://www.redwoodsmarathon.org/)

Running group, yes please

I would LOVE a running club!

On a related note; would anyone be interested in joining a 12 person Ultra Marathon relay team?? We need a couple more people who want to run the Florida Keys Ragnar race in January. Here's the site:

Shoot me an email if you're interested!

I am definitely interested in the POSE portion of the running!

I'm interested in running. Already signed up for the san jose half marathon.

I'm interested in learning the running techniques. Can we get friends who are not members of CrossFit SC, for this class? If yes, what's the fee?

Being a triathlon/century ride kind of guy (yes I shave my legs Mike & Brian), I would be absolutely interested in CFE. I have been following some blogs, but haven't done any of the WOD's yet. It would be even better learning how to incorporate the CF WODs as well. Let me know.

You guys are insane. I hate running, ha ha!! But I'll do it...

Thanks DH... You have been an inspiration to me!! And Brian I am doing the Rock n Roll.. I did it last year and this year I am hoping to improve my time by a whole lot..anyone else doing it?

I signed up... also, i just got the fivefingers so my goal is to learn to run in those for the half... I find myself not running as fast as I normally would :( so need to learn how to pose run.
